Sunday at 6:57 pm PST, a New Moon will occur at 26°Aries.

This is when the Moon meets the Sun in the same sign and degree. They are joined by Uranus at 28°Aries. So, what does this mean for you? A breakthrough is coming!

Spring is the perfect time for breakthroughs. Plants have to break through the soil to reach the light of the Sun. Birds have to break through their shells to enter into life. Nature does it and so do we.

In astrology, the two planets that really help us breakthrough our stuff is Mars and Uranus. The Martian breakthrough energy feels like a long-standing conflict (external or internal) that finally reaches a resolution. The Uranian breakthrough energy is closely akin to a lightning bolt that instantly changes things forever. It can sometimes feel shocking and/or traumatic.

Mars is currently moving through Capricorn. It recently moved past Saturn, who represents traditions, authority and limits. An opportunity is on hand to breakthrough an outdated role you play in the world. If you’re always the one taking on extra projects at work, that takes away from time with loved ones ……how’s that working for you?

Mars will also meet Pluto soon after the New Moon. With this Martian breakthrough energy, you also have an opportunity to release mental baggage. Think of it as a deep cleaning of your life force energy. Some grief may arise as you look back at how you’ve used your energy and perhaps judge yourself harshly.

Uranus is nearing the end of its 7- year cycle through Aries. Since 2011 you probably have had some shocking realizations about who you thought you were going to be and who you actually are. Did you unpredictably call it quits in a marriage? Did you suddenly become a parent? or Did you surprisingly venture down a new career path? Really take some time over the next few weeks to honestly assess what has truly changed about YOU.

Some of this may have been jarring to the system.

There is support on its way. Chiron, the wounded healer, will step into Aries on April 17th. Helping us to heal some of the sore spots left untreated during Uranus’ transit through Aries. Chiron in Aries will also call us into owning more of who we are, especially when it may feel risky to do so.

How can you move through this time with some ease?

First be present. This is hard for all of us. There are many tempting things wanting to draw our attention away.

Connect back to your heart. During the Full Moon we won’t have any planets in air signs. This is not a time to look to your mind for answers. Hands over your heart and breathe.

Allow yourself to rest. With most planets in the get-up and go cardinal signs of Aries and Capricorn, rest will be the last thing you want to do.

Finally, know you’ve been here before. And if you’re reading this, you have a track-record of success dealing with these energies. Mars and Uranus have always been in the sky. They’ve always reflected back to us what we need to move through and to meet another level of our continuous evolving.
