Together, on May 21, the Sun and Mercury moved into Gemini. The energy got lighter, faster, and changeable. Since then Mercury has pulled ahead of the Sun. Providing us with more objectivity, as we progress into Gemini season. June’s New Moon at 12° Gemini is asking us to be an expert observer. This is happening on Monday, June 3 at 3:02 am PST.
Every year with a New Moon in Gemini, we are offered an opportunity to open up to experiencing a new perspective. It’s up to us to seek that out, by leaving our comfort zone behind. We must be curious enough to investigate our environment and the people in it. So go to that party, take a different route home, enroll in that creative writing class, or start a conversation with that person who holds a different political view from yours. Then observe what happens.
Now for some context.
This New Moon is taking place after weeks of being in a great void created by Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node in Capricorn. We’ve been in an intense period of unburdening, detoxing, releasing, and transforming of out-dated habits and structures that no longer support who we’re becoming. This process isn’t over, yet we have newly attained space for something more productive to enter.
But be discerning. Don’t let just anything occupy this precious space you’ve worked so hard to create. Neptune, the planet of confusion and Jupiter, the planet of more is better, will make it challenging to sort through all that comes your way. If undertaken now, it won’t be an easy task to determine what is yours to keep and what isn’t.
It seems that we are being called into standing back from our lives a bit. A time of going with the flow and just being that expert observer. We’re not meant to meddle with the unfolding. Let go of the plan, for now. Allow your curiosity to lead you, without the need to settle on something concrete.
As you go with the flow, you may want to record what you observe. Your are the journalist of your life, take meticulous notes.
At the time of the New Moon, Mercury will be in its final hours in Gemini. This will give the New Moon a slight edge. You may feel a bit anxious about running out of time. Like when you’ve spent weeks cramming for an exam, yet still worried if you’ve studied enough. If this happens, just breathe and know you are enough.
When Mercury enters Cancer the next day on June 4th, your mental processes will transition into an instinctual way of knowing. Be resourceful. Build on what you already know to navigate your internal landscape. Continue to practice being an observer, especially of how you feel.
Have a wonderful New Moon in Gemini!
