A healthy body flows. Stagnation anywhere can eventually lead to illness or death. Like our bodies, life too likes to flow and change.

This New Moon at 24° Taurus on May 15th, is a volatile one. Volatility that will help shake things up. Begin to bust through what has grown stagnant in your life.

It is hard sometimes to notice where we’ve been stuck. Afterall, we are too busy putting out fires elsewhere. Stagnant energy sometimes doesn’t seem like a problem until it’s too late. We put off examining it deeply because things are functioning well enough. This New Moon is bringing in energy that will be hard to ignore. The alarm bells will now take on a more frantic tone…… wake-up….. bust through!

New Moons are about setting intentions, planting new seeds that over time will grow. Some part of your life yearns for a new expression, but that expression can’t be realized until you’ve broken the ground to welcome it in. This is not an easy task. If it was you would have done it already. Integrating big radical changes into our lives isn’t something most of us have mastered. And it’s even harder in the area of our lives represented by Taurus. This archetype wants comfort, security, harmony, and beauty above all.

If you know your Rising Sign, here is the area of life the Taurus New Moon is taking place for you:

Aries Rising– resources, self-esteem, value (Second House)
Taurus Rising– identity, the body (First House)
Gemini Rising– hidden things, seclusion, higher levels of consciousness (Twelfth House)
Cancer Rising– friends, associations, hopes and dreams (Eleventh House)
Leo Rising– status in society, career (Tenth House)
Virgo Rising– wisdom, religion, philosophy, travel (Ninth House)
Libra Rising– sex, death, transformation (Eighth House)
Scorpio Rising– relationships (Seventh House)
Sagittarius Rising– health, work, daily life (Sixth House)
Capricorn Rising– creativity, children (Fifth House)
Aquarius Rising– home, family, inner self (Fourth House)
Pisces Rising– communication, siblings, neighbors (Third House)

This New Moon is also a good time to review the sacrifices you’ve made in order to hold on to security of your relationships, both personal and financial. It’s important to feel safe in the world, however if taken too far it can be the bondage we desperately want out of. Now more than ever you will have support to do life a lot differently. Hint: however that looks like for you it will most likely involve bringing you towards greater freedom.

We always have planetary energies on our side. Even energies that are uncomfortable, shocking, and aggressive are working towards our benefit in some way. Here are some of the key supporting planetary energies for this Taurus New Moon:

Mars/Pluto…the aftermath

Since the exact conjunction of Mars and Pluto on April 26, we’ve been using our will tend to some “psychological Spring cleaning.” Perhaps you’ve bursted into a fit of rage, tears, or just felt extremely exhausted these last two weeks or so. We will have a bit of a break. Shortly after the New Moon, Mars will enter Aquarius. Mars, our will, is ready to take our desires into a radical new direction. One that may set us apart from our usual crowd but nonetheless feels freeing.

Pluto is also supporting this New Moon, continuing its retrograde in Capricorn. This is not new ground, what Pluto does takes time. Continue to delve deep to untangle psychological structures you’ve built-up but no longer serves you. Especially those conditioned by society, culture, and our families. Sometimes what Pluto does is on a level of our subconscious that is hard to put into words. Just know it’s there (until 2024) doing it’s part to bust you out of stagnation.

Uranus enters Taurus

On the day of the New Moon, Uranus enters Taurus for the first time since May 1942. When an outer planet changes signs, it’s a big deal. There is a tangible shift in energy that will have a very noticeable real world affect. Uranus, the planet of individuality and freedom will spend about 7 years in Taurus. Uranus’ energy is unpredictable and shocking. It brings about changes in our lives that we sometimes feel blindsided by.

In Taurus, a sign associated with the five senses, shocks will likely be felt on the physical level. Stuff of matter, by nature, are dense and harder to change. The image that this symbolism congers to mind are volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. Some key themes that will likely get reorganized during this transit are our values, money/resources, self-worth, endurance, and our relationship to nature. Ultimately leading us to ask whether we own ourselves or are we busy owning others?

Be open to the changes this New Moon will bring to the stagnant parts of your life. Once flow is reestablished, you can begin to replenish your body, soul, and heart with new creative energy it so yearns for.

Let me know what you intend to bust out of, during this Taurus New Moon!
