Being present in 2019 means, acknowledging some harsh realities. Perhaps not for you personally but a family member, a friend, or a colleague. Cancer season reminds us that there is softness in this world too.
Perfectly timed is the New Moon Solar Eclipse at 10° Cancer, occurring on July 2 at 12:16 pm PST. We have an opportunity to re-focus on what is soothing to the soul. This New New Moon Solar Eclipse is asking you to feel for what truly nourishes you.
The archetype of the Mother and the Healer is awakening inside of you. Feeling will be prioritized over thinking. The inner life prioritized over external concerns. All in an attempt to make the unconscious dimensions of who you are, more conscious.
Our first connection to nourishment took place in the womb of our mothers. Since then we’ve tried to re-create this feeling, impossible as it may be. Substitutes like food, lovers, work, or drama will always disappoint. It’s time to stop reaching for something outside of self and start feeling for something deeper within you. Your source of unconditional nourishment.
Are you open to this? If so, take it slow.
We’re entering an extremely vulnerable space between now and the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on July 16.
Eclipses ramp up the intensity of New and Full Moons. They can signal a major turning point, usually a new beginning or ending. I like to think of them as a course corrections, giving each of us an opportunity to realign to our life’s highest intentions.
Always find time to soothe and ground your body during eclipse season. The physical body has the hardest time adjusting to abrupt changes.
And remember, what truly nourishes you (emotionally and physically) is going through an evolution. If you know your birth chart, look to the house where Cancer falls and the placement of your natal Moon. There are valuable insights there for you to feel out.
Finally, a word on the parent child bond.
It’s possible this eclipse will bring up strong emotions or changes that will affect your relationship with your parents or children.
Sometimes we don’t get what we need from our parents and spend our adult years seeking what we’ve missed. It’s time to forgive your parents, they did their best. This will allow for a new kind of relating and possible one you didn’t know you needed.
Similarly, forgive yourself for what you’re unable to offer to your children. Like you, they will feel their way towards what truly nourishes them.
Have a wonderful New Moon Solar Eclipse!
