Spring arrives as a gentle but undeniable shift—a season that stirs us awake after winter’s stillness.

The air softens, carrying the scent of fresh blooms and rain-soaked earth. Light lingers a little longer each day, inviting us to stretch, explore, and reengage with the world outside.

Nature moves in rhythms of renewal. Trees bud, flowers push through the soil, and animals emerge, instinctively responding to the call of the season. There’s momentum in the air—an invitation to plant, to begin, to embrace change.

But change isn’t always easy to navigate, even when it’s part of a natural cycle. Astrology provides a lens through which we can understand these seasonal shifts on a deeper level—helping us work with the cosmic currents rather than feeling swept up in them.

That’s why I’ve created this guide: to explore the astrology of Spring 2025 and offer insight into the themes, opportunities, and challenges this season may bring. Whether you’re seeking clarity, growth, or a sense of alignment, this guide will help you move through the months ahead with greater awareness and intention.

Spring officially kicks off on March 20 at 5:01 am ET/ 2:01 am  PT and continues through June 20.

Before diving into the significant astrology happening this Spring, let’s get you more acquainted with the zodiac signs that make up this time of year.

The Zodiac Signs of Spring

Aries— The Pioneer, Warrior, Athlete, Survivor (Mar. 20 – Apr. 19)

Spring arrives in the Northern Hemisphere at the March 20/21 Equinox, marking the start of a new astrological year as the Sun enters 0° Aries. This threshold hums with the energy of initiation—fresh starts, bold impulses, and the promise of something yet to unfold.

But new beginnings are rarely effortless. Birth requires a push. A sprout must break through the dense soil to reach the light. A newborn must pass through the birth canal, propelled by forces beyond its control. Aries season carries this raw, urgent momentum—life insisting on itself, no matter the resistance.

In the face of the unknown, we stumble. The path forward isn’t clear because it hasn’t been walked before. There’s uncertainty, yes, but also instinct, courage, and an untamed enthusiasm that propels us forward. Aries reminds us that we don’t have to have it all figured out—we just have to begin.

If we allow it, Aries season teaches us how to be brave in a world that is constantly shifting. In 2025 and beyond, that bravery will be more necessary than ever. This is our time to pioneer the new, stand firm in our desires, and, when we inevitably fall, rise again—stronger, bolder, and ready to try once more.

Taurus — The Nature-lover, Musician, Silent One, Material Girl (Apr. 20 to May 19)

As we shift into Taurus season, a fixed earth sign, we settle into the steady embrace of mid-Spring. The world around us hums with warmth and vitality—songbirds call to one another, flowers burst into spectacular color, and the air carries a softness that invites us to slow down and savor life. This is a season of embodiment, where our senses become the bridge to deeper connection with our environment—quiet, simple, and full of pleasure.

Taurus season also anchors us in the undeniable truth that we have a body, and that body has needs. The fundamental ones—food, water, rest, shelter, safety, love. Do we have them? And if not, how do we tend to them? This is a time to get practical, to root ourselves in the essentials, and to ensure that what sustains us is not just enough, but truly nourishing.

This is a “no faff, no fuss” zone—Taurus energy is cool, natural, and unshaken. It reminds us that abundance isn’t about excess but about appreciating what is already here.

If we allow it, Taurus season teaches us how to fully inhabit our lives, to find fulfillment in the tangible, and to honor the deep satisfaction that comes from being present in our own skin.

Gemini— The Observer, Teacher, Journalist, Storyteller (May 20 to June 19)

Spring comes to a lively close with Gemini season, a mutable air sign that corresponds to late spring—a time when flowers are in full bloom, outdoor activities beckon, and schools release children into the freedom of their neighborhoods. The world feels busier, more animated, buzzing with movement and conversation.

While Aries and Taurus are more individually focused, Gemini season expands our awareness. We begin to see beyond ourselves, recognizing that we share this world with countless others—people, animals, plants, ideas, and possibilities. Our minds awaken to new perspectives, new ways of thinking, and the sheer variety of life unfolding around us.

During the Sun’s transit through Gemini, don’t try to pin things down. Instead, welcome the inconsistency, the unpredictability, the rapid shifts. Indulge in the many observations life has to offer. Be curious, flexible, social, and talkative. Follow the thread of a conversation, connect seemingly unrelated ideas, and explore the paths that don’t move in a straight line. After all, even if you take a different route to work, you still arrive at the same place—perhaps with a fresh perspective.

If we allow it, Gemini season teaches us the art of curiosity within our immediate environment—reminding us that everyone has a story to tell—and the joy of generously sharing what we learn.

What to Expect Astrologically for Spring 2025

Reclaiming our Emotional Agency:  A Mars Retrograde Retrospective for Spring 2025

We’re all born with Mars placed somewhere in our charts. It represents our ability to direct our energy towards our desire, even when obstacles or distractions arise. A fully expressed Mars welcomes a challenge.

From December 6, 2024 through February 24, 2025, Mars retrograded through Leo and Cancer, withdrawing its energy. This period may have felt like hitting an invisible wall—suppressed emotions, burnout, lack of motivation, and even a creeping sense that our efforts didn’t matter.

If you look closer, Mars retrograde periods are always a time to pause and reevaluate how we direct our efforts in the world. Who’s in charge of your emotions? Who’s influencing your behavior?

For many, this period revealed just how much our emotional state is shaped by external forces. Maybe family members, with good intentions, instilled fears that limited your choices. Perhaps a workplace in crisis left you absorbing collective anxiety. Fear spreads easily. When we feel out of control, we seek safety—sometimes by shutting down, other times by trying to control others. Recognizing this dynamic is the first step toward reclaiming emotional agency.

Even though the Mars retrograde cycle has ended, its impact lingers, shaping how we move forward this Spring. Pay attention to the following key dates, which bring resolutions and turning points:

  • April 4 – Mars trines Saturn in Pisces: Acting on emotional authority. You gain clarity on how to reclaim control over your emotional responses.
  • April 19 – Mars trines Neptune in Aries: Inspiration in motion. Trust your instincts and take intuitive action.
  • April 26 – Mars opposes Pluto in Aquarius: A pivotal challenge emerges. You may feel torn between personal desires and collective responsibilities. Look back to the lessons of Mars retrograde—where do you stand?
  • May 3 – Mars reaches 7° Leo: The retrograde cycle officially closes. New energy and direction take shape—what’s next for you? What lessons are you taking forward?

Mars retrograde may have forced us to confront unhealthy dynamics, but the lessons are now fuel for forward movement. How will you step into your renewed sense of agency?

Venus Retrograde 2025 in Aries & Pisces: Instinct, Honesty, and the Fight for Fairness

Venus governs how we relate and what we attract, influencing our connections through the things we find valuable—whether that’s beauty, security, harmony, or something else entirely. So when Venus retrogrades (about every two years), it’s a significant cosmic event, ushering in a period of deep re-evaluation around our values and relationships.

During a Venus retrograde, the focus shifts from seeking external validation or keeping the peace to something more daring: confronting misalignments in how we connect, attract, and desire. This is a time to ask yourself—are your relationships and choices truly aligned with your values, or have they been shaped by external forces? And to what extent is that okay with you?

On March 1, 2025, Venus began its retrograde at 10° Aries, and will conclude its journey on April 12, 2025, at 24° Pisces. This is not an isolated event but part of a larger cycle. Every eight years, Venus retrogrades in the same sign, weaving a recurring theme through our lives. Think back to 2017, 2009, 2001, 1993—events and relationship dynamics from those years may resurface, not as a cosmic do-over, but as an opportunity to revisit old patterns with the clarity of new wisdom.

Key Themes of Venus Retrograde in Aries/Pisces

Honesty & Instinct
Instincts are immediate, unfiltered, and often more honest than the narratives we construct over time. For example, deep down, you may instinctively know that you thrive as a single person—but how does that truth hold up against societal expectations of partnership? Or, you may sense that a relationship is no longer fulfilling your needs, yet external pressures make it difficult to walk away. Venus retrograde will challenge you to separate personal truth from collective conditioning.

The Fight for Fairness
Venus in Aries is often uncomfortable putting its own needs first, while Venus in Pisces can be overly comfortable with self-sacrifice. This retrograde brings an opportunity to recalibrate—where have you given too much? Where have you hesitated to assert yourself? The key lesson is in balancing self-advocacy with genuine connection.

How to Navigate This Retrograde

Reflect on Relationship Patterns: Revisit past Venus retrograde in Aries/Pisces years to identify recurring themes. What cycles are ready to be broken?

Redefine What Fairness Means to You: Are your relationships truly reciprocal? Are you giving and receiving in a way that aligns with your values?

Embrace Honesty: Whether in love, money, or personal desires, let instinct—not expectation—guide your choices.

In addition to the above themes, the following dates serve as key markers in the Venus retrograde cycle, helping you track developments in its unfolding story.

  • March 22– Venus retrograde conjuncts the Sun at 2° Aries. This is the half-way point of the Venus retrograde cycle
  • Mar 27 – Venus retrogrades back into Pisces
  • Mar 27 –  Venus  retrograde conjuncts Neptune at 29° Pisces
  • Arp 7 –  Venus retrograde conjuncts Saturn at 25° Pisces
  • April 12 –  Venus stations and turns direct at 24° Pisces
  • Apr 24 –  Venus conjuncts Saturn at 27° Pisces
  • May 2 –  Venus conjuncts Neptune at 1° Aries
  • May 16 – Venus reaches 11° Aries which officially ends the retrograde period

This Venus retrograde cycle  is your invitation to get honest about what you truly value and reclaim the balance between self-assertion and connection.

Spring 2025 Eclipse season: Broken Trust Heals

The first eclipses of 2025 will dramatically shape the collective energy of this spring. On March 14, 2025, a Total Lunar Eclipse at 23° Virgo, followed by a Partial Solar Eclipse at 9° Aries on March 29, 2025.

Lunar eclipses happen when the Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the Moon, casting a shadow over it. Solar eclipses occur when the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, obscuring the Sun’s light.

Eclipses act as unstable energetic portals, propelling us into new chapters—sometimes subtly, other times dramatically. Trust that everything is unfolding in your favor, even if the outcome isn’t what you would have chosen.

Let’s take a closer look at each eclipse.

March 2025 Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo at 23°

We often hear the phrase: trust the process. It suggests faith in a path that will eventually lead to a desired result, even when uncertainty looms. But some days, staying committed to that path requires more patience than we imagined—testing our resolve like nothing else. At a certain point, we may find ourselves slipping into an unhealthy space—wondering, Have I done something wrong? or spiraling into shame, thinking, Maybe I’m the problem.

Because we can’t foresee the future and with an attempt to keep us safe, our minds often default to negative assumptions.

This Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo highlights what is beyond our control. It reminds us that while plans and strategies have their place, they can only take us so far. At this time, trusting the process has the potential to evolve into trusting ourselves. When things inevitably go sideways, our ability to adapt, find solutions, and develop new skills determines our resilience.

As we navigate major technological, economic, and environmental shifts, we’re being called to embrace both chosen and unchosen changes in our lives. We all have models of how things should go, how life should unfold—but this eclipse asks us to remake the model. And to do that, we must first trust the imperfection of the messy surrender.

March 2025 Partial Solar Eclipse in Aries at 9°

From July 17, 2023, to January 11, 2025, the Nodes of the Moon moved through Aries and Libra, strengthening our ability to take both individual and collective action. This cycle brought up themes of personal power, lack of support, people-pleasing, and decision-making—forcing us to evaluate and, in some cases, dissolve relationships that no longer supported our growth.

Now, with the Nodes fully shifted into Pisces and Virgo, a new chapter is beginning. But before we fully move on, this Partial Solar Eclipse in Aries offers a final resolution—a moment of reckoning that ties back to the Solar Eclipse at 10° Libra on October 2, 2024.

This is the other side of the story, the piece we hadn’t seen before. But with the added influence of the Virgo Lunar Eclipse and Neptune’s impending shift into Aries (just days away), this period brings a sense of healing through action—offering forgiveness, emotional agency, and the courage to move forward—without doubt and without looking back.

Neptune in Aries 2025-2039: In Pursuit of a New Dream

Outer planets like Neptune move slowly through the zodiac, exerting their influence for a generation. As Neptune transitions from Pisces into Aries (2025–2039), we are entering a profoundly influential period.

This spring, on March 30, 2025, we get our first glimpse of Neptune’s presence in Aries.

What Can We Expect?

Neptune dissolves, clouds, and sensitizes whatever it touches, making it difficult to rely on physical senses. Its elusive nature can create confusion, yet it also opens us to creativity, mysticism, and transcendence.

Now, Neptune moves from Pisces—the final sign of the zodiac—to Aries, the first. This signals the collective ending of one dream and the pursuit of another. Since March 2023, Saturn’s presence in Pisces has given us the discipline to either manifest long-held dreams or release them. Now, Neptune in Aries signals a new era of vision and action.

Aries embodies the pioneer, warrior, survivor, and athlete, suggesting that this next chapter will require courage, self-determination, and a willingness to forge new paths. While the full impact of this transit will take years to unfold, history offers us clues.

A Look Back: Neptune in Aries (1861–1875)

The last time Neptune was in Aries, the world underwent seismic changes—many of which reshaped societies and individual lives. Rapid industrialization, imperialism, and the dismantling of oppressive institutions marked the era.

In the United States, this period encompassed the Civil War (1861–1865) and the Reconstruction Era (1865–1877)—a time of conflict, upheaval, and the struggle for a more just society.

As writer Mark Twain put it: “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” We can expect echoes of that era’s themes, including:

  • Fights for individual rights and freedoms
  • Spiritual independence
  • Exploration, pioneering, and self-reliance
  • The rise of nationalism and shifting global power
  • The myth of the cowboy—rugged individualism
  • Industrialization and urbanization
  • Mass migration fueled by dreams of something better
  • Early precursors to the Progressive Era

Each of us has a part to play in the realization of a better dream. What part of the collective unconscious you will be working with will depend on where your natal chart.

Neptune’s visit to Aries will be brief at first. On October 22, 2025, it retrogrades back into Pisces for a final trip. Then, on January 26, 2026, it re-enters Aries—this time to stay until 2038.

Saturn in Aries (2025 – 2028): The Discipline of Authenticity

On May 24, 2025, Saturn—the planet of self-discipline, boundaries, solitude, integrity, and maturity—enters Aries for the first time since April 1997.

In Aries, Saturn challenges us to define ourselves on our own terms. Ego feels shaky. Identity becomes questionable. That’s the threat—and the invitation.

What makes this period even more potent is the backdrop: Saturn arrives in Aries with Neptune already present, slowly moving toward a rare and powerful conjunction at 0° Aries early next year. On top of that, we’re still riding the ripples of two major conjunctions in 2020 involving Saturn—the Saturn-Pluto conjunction (January 12, 2020) at 22° Capricorn, which dismantled outdated power structures, and the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction (December 21, 2020) at 0° Aquarius, sparking a push toward innovation and new social norms.

We’re in a moment where the old is dissolving and the new is not yet fully formed. Aries, ruled by Mars, demands action—but Saturn requires patience and responsibility. Together, they create a crucible where each of us will be asked:
What does it mean to take authentic authority over your life?

How to Navigate This Period

This is uncharted territory. We’ve never experienced this exact configuration before. And yet, you’ve been preparing for this moment. The last several years have exposed the fragility of our systems and institutions; now, Saturn in Aries —joined by Neptune—calls on you to consciously apply your will to create anew.

Saturn will slow the pace, allowing us to anchor ourselves in discipline and self-awareness—no matter how fast the world is changing. It’s like leaping onto a fast-moving vehicle, learning to steady yourself, and then steering.

Expect to face tests around self-trust, personal responsibility, and integrity. Authenticity won’t come from bravado or ego, but from mastering the quiet, often uncomfortable work of standing firmly in who you are—without needing external validation.

Saturn will briefly return to Pisces from September 1, 2025, until re-entering Aries for its long stay on February 14, 2026, through April 2028.

If you were born with Saturn in Aries (1997–1999, 1967–1969, or 1937–1940)—happy Saturn Return! This is your time to level up.

Jupiter in Cancer (2025 – 2026): Expanding the Circle of Care Through Emotional Resonance

Jupiter’s transit through Cancer (June 9, 2025 – June 29, 2026) strengthens the energy of sensitivity, kindness, and protection. It encourages us to care deeply—whether that’s about people, places, or causes close to our hearts. However, emotional responses will feel especially heightened, even absolute. It’s easy to mistake feelings for truth. But emotions are deeply subjective—what nurtures one person may trigger discomfort in another. Emotional honesty doesn’t always mean universal truth.

There’s also a risk of becoming overly protectionist, especially in times of perceived scarcity. Defensiveness around who gets to belong—who is “in” and who is “out”—can flare up.

Issues surrounding health, food security, housing, family dynamics, belonging, and women’s rights may also become more pronounced during this period. Expect both collective growth in these areas and tension around how resources and care are distributed.

A Rough Start

Jupiter’s early days in Cancer won’t be entirely smooth. Within its first week, it squares Saturn at 1° Aries (June 15) and Neptune at 2° Aries (June 18), both newly in Aries.

This kicks off a potent push-pull between bold self-determination and the desire for emotional connection. How do we honor individuality without sacrificing belonging? How do we protect collective wellbeing without stifling personal freedom?

These questions will ripple through our relationships, communities, and institutions—forcing us to examine how we balance personal empowerment with the need to nurture others.

Redefining Family and Belonging

Traditionally, family has been defined by biology or legal ties—a narrow framework in an increasingly diverse, interconnected world.

Under Jupiter in Cancer, we’re invited to broaden that definition. What truly makes someone family may not be bloodlines but emotional resonance, shared care, and mutual support.

This transit encourages us to recognize chosen family, soul family, and the broader human family as equally valid. It’s about expanding belonging to include those who nourish us, stand beside us, and create safety with us—whether they’re lifelong companions or newly discovered kin.

Inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword here; it’s a commitment to weaving deeper connections, extending care, and creating space for all kinds of family structures to thrive.

Some Final Advice

Reflect on where your emotional bonds feel strongest—who do you instinctively want to protect and care for? Look for opportunities to practice generosity without strings attached, particularly in areas related to home, family, and community. Stay mindful of emotional over-identification; give space for differing feelings and truths.

The last time Jupiter moved through Cancer (June 2013 – July 2014), similar themes surfaced. You may notice echoes of situations or dynamics from that period revisiting now.
